Specific Applications
Application 1: Business students
Students at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (and at
several other business schools) use the Xpult
to learn about design of experiments, process improvement, and statistical process
control. The Xpult is an integral part of the MBA core course at Wharton (six
sigma application).
Application 2: Science education (all grades)
The Xpult made its first public appearance at the science fair of the
PennWynne elementary school in Wynnewood, PA.
In the midst of a dozen hands-on experiments common for such events, the Xpult
emerged as the key attraction of the fair (measured by the number of children
waiting in line to experiment with it). The Xpult has also been used by the
fifth-grade science and technology club at the Penn-Alexander School in West
Philadelphia.
Application 3: Engineering students
Students in the University of Pennsylvania's engineering school use the Xpult to learn about experimental design, modeling and simulation of dynamic systems, and process improvement based on intelligent experimentation (problem solving application).
